About...
The Chaplain: Karen is a mum of 3 young adults, married to David, and loves her family, sport and being outdoors in nature. She enjoys tennis, bush walking (especially near edges!), cycling, table tennis, swimming and some gym classes. She can be found enjoying good coffee and food at cafes and restaurants with family and friends, or quietly sitting in a sunny spot.
Karen became an ordained Minister of the Uniting Church in Australia in 2014, after many years of lay ministry. However, Karen prefers to go to the community, rather than expect people to turn up at a Church building to see her. She prefers to listen to people's needs and perspectives and adapt to fit to them, rather than preach. (But she does offer her perspective in her blogs). Innovative, contemplative elements are found in many of her groups. Although Karen is generously sponsored by Lane Cove Uniting Church, she is not its Minister.
Lane Cove Community Chaplaincy seeks to serve and connect the local community in unique and person-oriented ways. Karen, the Chaplain, lives and works in Lane Cove and is readily available to meet you for these reasons:
· Help people find meaning in their lives, particularly following times of grief, stress or crisis
· Connect people with other people and services
· Help people understand and find spiritual strength in their lives
· Explain the Christian story and its role in developing spiritual understanding
Available to debrief near death experiences and similar unusual occurrences
Encourage an acceptance of diversity and inclusiveness in our community
. Care for the whole person - body, mind and spirit
In seeking to connect people positively, Lane Cove Community Chaplaincy offers some activities and events.
Please contact Karen if you would like to talk about, or receive support for any life issue, or wish to be better connected to others in the community.
